Purpose and contract relationship. This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) establishes minimum rules for lawful, safe, secure, and responsible use of FUEL’s website, AI-powered software platform, APIs, integrations, and related services (collectively, the “Services”). This AUP is incorporated into FUEL’s Terms and, where applicable, the FUEL Master Subscription and Services Agreement (“MSA”). If this AUP conflicts with a negotiated MSA or Order Form, the MSA and applicable Order Form control. This AUP does not independently expand FUEL’s termination, liability, indemnification, data-use, or intellectual-property rights.
1. Who Must Comply
This AUP applies to customers, Authorized Users, administrators, contractors, developers, integration partners, and other persons who access or use the Services through a FUEL account or customer environment. Customers are responsible for use of the Services by their Authorized Users as provided in the MSA.
2. General Standard
You may use the Services only for lawful, authorized business purposes and in accordance with the Agreement, applicable law, and documentation. You may not use the Services in a manner that materially threatens the security, integrity, availability, lawful operation, or rights of FUEL, another customer, a user, or a third party.
3. Security, Access and Platform Integrity
- Do not access, attempt to access, probe, scan, test, or interfere with accounts, tenants, systems, networks, APIs, models, prompts, credentials, data, or resources for which you are not authorized.
- Do not circumvent authentication, authorization, rate limits, usage controls, security safeguards, tenant isolation, access restrictions, or technical limitations.
- Do not introduce malware, ransomware, malicious code, harmful payloads, denial-of-service activity, destructive commands, or other mechanisms intended to disrupt, compromise, damage, or degrade the Services or another system.
- Do not use compromised, stolen, shared, fabricated, or unauthorized credentials or impersonate another user, customer, organization, or FUEL representative.
- Do not intentionally exploit a suspected vulnerability. Security researchers and customers should report suspected vulnerabilities through FUEL’s designated security channel rather than attempting destructive or persistent exploitation.
- Do not use automated activity at a volume or pattern that materially degrades the Services or circumvents contracted usage limits.
4. Reverse Engineering, Extraction and Competitive Misuse
- Do not reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, decode, translate, or attempt to derive source code, proprietary algorithms, non-public architecture, model weights, system prompts, hidden instructions, or other non-public components of the Services, except to the limited extent such restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
- Do not scrape, crawl, harvest, systematically extract, or reproduce substantial portions of the Services, Documentation, outputs, interfaces, or datasets except through functionality expressly provided or authorized by FUEL.
- Do not use the Services, FUEL Confidential Information, non-public outputs, or access to the Services to train, develop, benchmark, replicate, or materially improve a competing product, model, or service without FUEL’s written authorization.
- Do not conduct load testing, penetration testing, security testing, benchmarking, or comparative publication concerning the Services without authorization where such activity could affect security, confidentiality, availability, or FUEL’s legitimate proprietary interests.
5. Unlawful, Fraudulent or Deceptive use
- Do not use the Services to commit, facilitate, conceal, or materially assist fraud, theft, identity theft, forgery, extortion, money laundering, unlawful financial activity, or other criminal conduct.
- Do not impersonate a person or organization, misrepresent identity or authority, fabricate endorsements, or intentionally deceive another person about the origin or authenticity of material generated through the Services.
- Do not use the Services to violate applicable sanctions, export-control requirements, court orders, or other legally binding restrictions.
- Do not use the Services to create or distribute malicious phishing, credential-theft, social-engineering, or deceptive communications intended to cause financial, security, or other material harm.
6. Content, Intellectual Property and Privacy
- Do not submit, generate, upload, disclose, or distribute content that you do not have the lawful right or authority to use.
- Do not use the Services to infringe or misappropriate copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets, publicity rights, privacy rights, contractual confidentiality obligations, or other third-party rights.
- Do not disclose another person’s confidential, sensitive, regulated, or Personal Data through the Services unless you are authorized to do so and the Processing is permitted by the Agreement and applicable law.
- Do not attempt to identify, re-identify, expose, or infer sensitive Personal Data about an individual in violation of law or contractual restrictions.
- Do not use the Services to publish unlawful defamatory content, unlawful threats, targeted harassment, or content whose distribution is prohibited by applicable law.
Customer Data remains governed by the MSA, Privacy Policy, and DPA. This AUP does not grant FUEL additional rights to use Customer Data or authorize generalized model training beyond the rights expressly provided in those documents.
7. AI-Specific Responsible use
FUEL’s AI features are intended to assist users, not replace appropriate human judgment. Users are responsible for evaluating outputs before relying on them. In particular:
- Do not knowingly represent AI-generated content as independently verified fact when doing so would be materially deceptive or unlawful.
- Do not use AI outputs as the sole basis for consequential decisions about an individual where applicable law requires human review, notice, consent, explanation, nondiscrimination safeguards, or other protections.
- Do not use the Services to unlawfully discriminate against individuals or protected classes or to evade legally required fairness, accessibility, or civil-rights obligations.
- Do not intentionally manipulate the Services to reveal another customer’s data, confidential information, hidden system instructions, credentials, or non-public model/platform information.
- Do not upload regulated data categories that FUEL has not contractually agreed to support, including data subject to specialized legal or security requirements, unless the applicable Agreement expressly permits that Processing.
- Do not use the Services to generate, automate, or materially facilitate activity that is unlawful in the jurisdiction applicable to the user, customer, or affected individual.
AI output limitations. AI-generated outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, non-unique, or inappropriate for a particular purpose. The MSA and Terms govern output rights, warranties, disclaimers, and allocation of responsibility.
8. High-Impact and Regulated uses
Unless expressly approved in writing by FUEL and supported by the applicable Agreement, product configuration, and legal requirements, customers may not use the Services as an autonomous decision-maker for high-impact decisions concerning an individual’s eligibility, selection, access, or material terms in areas such as employment, credit, lending, insurance, housing, education admissions, healthcare, or legal services.
This restriction does not prohibit ordinary productivity, drafting, analysis, training, customer-support, workflow, or decision-support uses where appropriate human oversight and legally required safeguards remain in place.
9. Minors and Specialized Data
The Services are primarily designed for organizational use. A customer may not knowingly deploy the Services for children or students, or submit education records, children’s data, protected health information, payment-card data, biometric identifiers, or other specially regulated data, unless FUEL has expressly agreed that the relevant Service supports that use and the Parties have implemented required contractual, privacy, and security measures.
Operational dependency. Product and Legal must determine the regulated-data categories FUEL will affirmatively support. This provision is intentionally conservative until that product scope is approved.
10. Communications and Abuse
- Do not use the Services to send unlawful spam, unsolicited communications prohibited by law, or communications that violate applicable consent or opt-out requirements.
- Do not use the Services for stalking, unlawful surveillance, coercion, credible threats, or targeted abuse.
- Do not knowingly use FUEL integrations or messaging capabilities to evade another platform’s anti-abuse, consent, rate-limit, or security controls.
11. Enforcement and Suspension
FUEL may investigate suspected violations of this AUP and may take reasonable, proportionate action necessary to protect the Services, customers, users, or third parties. For contracted customers, suspension and termination remain governed by the MSA. Depending on the circumstances, FUEL may request remediation, restrict the affected feature or account, temporarily suspend affected access where permitted by the MSA, preserve relevant evidence, or comply with lawful government or court requirements.
No convenience termination. A violation of this AUP does not create a separate right for FUEL to terminate a committed subscription for convenience. Material AUP violations may constitute breach or unlawful/security abuse only to the extent provided in the MSA.
12. Reporting and Security Issues
Suspected abuse, unlawful use, or security vulnerabilities should be reported to: support@myfuel.io. Reports should include enough information for FUEL to investigate without including unnecessary sensitive information.
FUEL will maintain an internal process for routing reports to the appropriate Product, Engineering, Security, Privacy, or Legal owner.
13. Changes to this AUP
FUEL may update this AUP to address changes in law, security threats, technology, product capabilities, or abuse patterns. Material changes will be communicated by reasonable means. An update to this AUP will not retroactively modify negotiated pricing, liability, indemnification, IP ownership, data-use rights, governing law, or termination rights under an MSA or Order Form.
